Travelling Abroad
.: How to activate roaming
- Before you travel ensure that roaming is activated on your line. To do this contact your nearest Shops.
- On arrival to the visited country, switch on your phone as usual. Your phone will automatically search for one of our roaming partners. You may choose your preferred network manually.
- You can now make and receive calls and send & receive SMSs.
Please note that in some countries we may only have one roaming operator.
.: Making calls and sending SMS while roaming
Calls can be made to any destination within the country you are visiting by simply dialling the relevant area code and number. If you need to make an international call from the country you are visiting - simply dial the following:
- "+" or "The country's international access code". Remember plus (+) is the standard replacement used instead of the country's international access code e.g. 00265 for Malawi.
2. The country code of the country you are dialing.
3. The telephone number of the person you are calling.
- If you wish to make a local call (roaming country to roaming country) dial as though you are making a local call in that country. While abroad, your callers in Malawi will still be able to reach you by dialing your tnm phone number. If somebody within the country in which you are roaming needs to contact you, they will have to dial your full tnm number, including the international access code ("+") and the international dialing code for Malawi (+265) followed by your number. For example: +265 88 812 3456
.: Receiving calls while Roaming
There are no special procedures involved in receiving phone calls while roaming overseas. Simply answer the call as you would normally. |
