TNM DONATES TO 990 RAPID RESPONSE SERVICE

TNM on Wednesday 13th January 2010 handed over to Malawi Police Service toll-free 990 rapid response lines and handsets, aimed at giving TNM subscribers direct and easy access to the emergency service.

The donated TNM lines have been configured in such a way that any 990 service call made from any location within Blantyre and Lilongwe urban will go direct to the Police covering that particular area.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Senior Deputy Commissioner for Police Mr. Jose said that the TNM system will reduce the time it takes to route an emergency message to the appropriate Police officers.

TNM’s Marketing Communications Manager, Sobhuza Ngwenya said that TNM realizes that safety and security of the public are important for a vibrant economy. “The public should know that this service is for their benefit and should not abuse it”, added Sobhuza.
